AJC enters into Association Agreement with Jewish Federation of New Mexico


  AJC Visits LDS Church Leaders
in Salt Lake City April 19-20

AJC Colorado Board Members Donald Yale, Natalie Goldman, Mel Klein, Roberta Klein, Ralph Stern, Fran Stern and Nancy Livingston, along with Regional Director Don Schlesinger, took part in a special visit to Salt Lake City hosted by the LDS Church on April 19-20.  Elder Brent Hiller, Area Seventy, arranged for a series of meetings with prominent Church officials and Jewish community leaders.  


 

Richard Hinckley, Director of Church Hosting, conducted a private tour of spectacular Temple Square, including the famous Mormon Tabernacle Hall (seen above.)

AJC Colorado Board Members met with Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, a leading national  proponent of comprehensive immigration reform and a passionate supporter of Israel. 


"Israel for 30-Somethings" Series Launched April 5

AJC Colorado and the DU Center for Juddaic Studies is pleased to announce the recent launch of its new "Israel for 30-Somethings" series, funded by a generous grant from the Rose Community Foundation.  If you or someone you know might be interested in joining this series, please contact Matt Leebove at leebovem@ajc.org.



 

AJC Creates a New Interfaith Initiative with
Leaders of the Turkish Muslim Community

AJC Colorado started a new interfaith initiative with leaders of the Turkish Muslim community.  Last fall, Ismail Akbulut, President of the Multicultural Mosaic Foundation, approached AJC to express his group's concerns about the harmful effects resulting from actions taken by the Turkish government that had damaged previously good relations with Israel and the Jewish people.

AJC Colorado was honored by Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado as its 2011 “Partner of the Year” at the Federation’s 2011 Annual Meeting. Federation CEO & President Doug Seserman hailed AJC as “the diplomatic arm of the Jewish community, both locally and overseas.”
