AJC Long Island Region Office

AJC's Long Island region office was founded in 1971. Our work is guided by the principle that the rights and freedoms of Jews and minorities are safe only when they are secure for all. To that end, our Office emphasizes activities that reach out in innovative ways to other faith communities and ethnic groups.Committed to a broad agenda including programming and advocacy on behalf of Israel's security, and the fight against anti-Semitism, human rights, intergroup relations, interfaith outreach and church/state issues, AJC Long Island is proud to be a driving force in enriching the quality of Jewish life locally and building bridges between the Jewish and the growing multi-faith community in our region.

AJC co-sponsors the Interfaith Clergy Committee of Long Island with the Long Island Council of Churches. We are founding members of the Long Island Immigrant Alliance.


Suffolk County Executive Signs onto AJC’s Initiative Against Anti-Semitism
As part of AJC’s “Mayors and Municipal Leaders Against Anti-Semitism”, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone welcomed an AJC delegation to his offices where he joined more than 302 other elected officials representing over 75 million Americans in declaring that “prejudices against Jews or others due to differences in religious faith are inconsistent with our core values.” Click here to read.
