Contemporary Jewish Life

The William Petschek Contemporary Jewish Life Department, established in 1964, ensures Jewish continuity and enriches the quality of Jewish life. AJC is the only advocacy organization that made this a programmatic priority, after recognizing that assimilation poses no less a danger than anti-Semitism. AJC’s Contemporary Jewish Life Department surveys and works with modern American Jews to enhance the Jewish experience in the U.S. by preserving and improving relations within the larger American Jewish community and among Jewish leaders.

Dr. Steven Bayme is the Director of the Contemporary Jewish Life Department. For more information about this department and its programs, you may contact him at baymes@ajc.org.
