JORGE ARGÜELLO is an Argentine politician and diplomat. He currently serves as Argentina’s Ambassador to the United States. Argüello’s last appointment was as the Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations where he also served as chairman of the UN Special Committee on Decolonization. He previously served as the Vice President of the Peace and Security Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies and the Legislative Assembly of the City of Buenos Aires.

Argüello earned his Law degree at the University of Buenos Aires in 1985 and later a Master’s degree in public administration at the University of San Andrés. He has authored numerous articles and books on voter participation.
