The Illinois DREAM Act aims to accomplish what Congress has been unable and unwilling to do – instill common sense into a system that turns its back on the products of our education system. As a diverse group of stakeholders from the business, legal, civic, law enforcement and health sectors convened by the American Jewish Committee, the Chicago Bridging America Task Force stands steadfastly opposed to policies that deport some of our best and brightest students.
The Illinois DREAM Act is an important first step in the road to fix our broken immigration system and ensure that people educated in America can stay in America. We look forward to the day when such common sense permeates beyond Illinois' borders.
