The full text of this week's commentary follows:

Is history repeating itself again and again?

In 1947, the UN proposed to create two states – one Jewish, one Arab.

The Jews said yes, the Arabs no.

A year later, Israel was created.

Meanwhile, the West Bank and Gaza were in the Arab world’s hands.

A Palestinian state could have been declared at any time, but never was.

In 1967, in a war of self-defense, Israel took these lands and offered to talk peace.

The Arab world refused.

In 2000 and 2001, Israel tried again to strike a deal for a Palestinian state.

The answer? No.

Same thing in 2008. That Israeli offer, too, was rebuffed.

And now, Israel is trying yet again, releasing convicted Palestinian terrorists as a goodwill gesture.

But as yet no sign of Palestinian flexibility.

So many opportunities lost because of so many Palestinian “no’s”!Isn’t it high time for a Palestinian "yes"?
