Here’s a Middle East quiz.

Can you identify the country?

A U.S. official recently said this country is trying to get items for its nuclear and missile programs through front companies and falsified documentation.

Need another hint?

The UN just criticized it for its appalling human rights record, including “amputations, flogging, and increased use of the death penalty.”

It also cited promotion of violence against women, as well as blocking Facebook and Twitter.

And here’s a third hint.

This country has been a major supporter of Syria.

Yes, Syria, whose government is responsible for nearly 150,000 deaths of its own people in a war begun three years ago this month.

The country?

Iran, of course!

That’s why we must always be open-eyed, clear-headed, and tough-minded when dealing with the Iranian regime.

A great deal hangs in the balance.

Like us on Facebook and Twitter @AJC Global, since, happily, America isn’t Iran.

This is David Harris of AJC.
