Trying to advance Israeli-Palestinian peace isn’t for the faint-hearted.

Passions run high.

There’s no certainty of success.

After all, the Palestinians have turned down repeated Israeli peace offers over the past 65 years.

Bravo then to Secretary of State John Kerry for his current effort to reach peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Is it worth this new effort? Absolutely.

As Secretary Kerry said at AJC last June, when he launched his quest:

“Make no mistake: The President and I share your unshakeable commitment to Israel’s security…. The best way to truly ensure Israel’s security today and for future generations is by ending once and for all the conflict with the Palestinians, by summoning the courage to achieve peace, and by reaching a negotiated resolution that results in two states for two peoples, each able to fulfill their national aspirations in a homeland of their own.“
