AJC at Limmud Chicago: 'What's Jewish About Immigration Reform?'

AJC Chicago Assistant Director Jane Charney and Bridging America Project National Coordinator Ellen Carmell (pictured at right) along with community member and immigration activist Roberta Salas presented a workshop on the Jewish imperative to advocate for immigration reform during Limmud Chicago this past Sunday. Drawing on text, history and personal experience, the session was part of a slew of cultural, political and artistic offerings at the annual Jewish learning extravaganza.

AJC Chicago Board member Rabbi Evan Moffic of Congregation Solel (pictured at left) also presented at Limmud. Speaking with Dan Cedarbaum of the Mordecai M. Kaplan Center for Jewish Peoplehood, Rabbi Moffic considered the future of American liberal Judaism and explored ways to engage the Reform, Reconstructionist, Humanistic and Renewal Jewish communities.
