Forty years ago this month, Arab oil
producers launched a boycott against America.
Long gas lines formed. Prices went through
The boycott later petered out.
But the message was clear.
We needed to end our energy vulnerability –
for the sake of our national security and economy.
Over the following decades, politicians
were stronger on promises than performance.
But a few years ago, things began to
We’re now importing less and less oil and
other petroleum products.
We’re also using less oil, as vehicles
become more fuel efficient—and as we make progress in the use of alternative
fuels and technologies.
And we’re producing more oil and gas here
This is game-changing news.
For 40 years, AJC has stayed the course in
