We face foreign policy challenges galore.

The killing goes on in Syria. The numbers are staggering.

Iraq is facing new conflict, while tensions in Lebanon simmer.

North Korea remains as dangerous as ever.

The Central African Republic and South Sudan are seething.

The list goes on.

But at the top is Iran.

This could be the decisive year, when Iran either moves ahead on its nuclear program or pulls back.

If it moves ahead, all bets are off. The threat of Iran with nuclear weapons capability is almost unimaginable. It would embolden extremists – and likely trigger a new regional arms race.

That’s why a current bipartisan Senate bill is so important.

The point is to tell Iran: come clean and make a serious deal on your nuclear program, or face tougher sanctions.

We support the Senate bill, as do dozens of Democratic and Republican lawmakers.
