This is the week when world leaders gather
in New York for the new UN session.
And it’s the week when Iran’s infamous president
makes his annual appearance.
Yes, though president of a regime that
flouts UN resolutions on its nuclear program, he gets to speak at the UN.
Though his country arms the murderous
regime in Syria, where nearly 30,000 have been killed, he gets to speak at the
Though his country stomps on UN protected human
rights, he gets to speak at the UN.
Though his country denies the Holocaust
ever happened, even as the UN marks the Holocaust each January 27th, he gets to
speak at the UN.
And though his country openly calls for the
annihilation of another UN member state, Israel, he gets to speak at the UN.
At AJC, we’ve been calling on the world to
wake up to the Iranian reality for well over a decade.
