|AJC national radio message|
December 26, 2012 – New York – The AJC weekly radio messages are broadcast on the CBS radio network, before The Osgood File. All AJC radio commentaries since 2001 are available at www.ajc.org/radiocommentary.
The full text of this week’s commentary follows:
Well, I’m certainly glad we survived the catastrophic predictions of the Mayan calendar, and can now look forward to a New Year.
More seriously, my first thoughts in this season, as always, are with our brave troops in harm’s way.
A grateful nation says thank you, ever mindful of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
At this time of year, when families traditionally gather, every American soldier should know that you’re in our thoughts and prayers.
To all our troops wherever you are – to all those defending the cause of freedom and democracy – a Happy New Year.
And to our millions of listeners on over 400 radio stations nationwide, best wishes for 2013.
May it be a year of happiness and good health for you and your loved ones.
And may it be a year of peace and prosperity – and no more Newtowns, no more Auroras − for our beloved nation.
