The full text of this week’s commentary follows:

Once again, the Middle East is turbulent.

Iran spins its centrifuges, while damning America.

In Syria, 32,000 people have been killed. And there's no let-up in sight.

The Syrian violence is now spilling over to neighboring Lebanon.

Of course, Hezbollah is involved – the same Hezbollah on the U.S. terrorism list, but, shamefully, not on the European Union's.

Meanwhile, Hamas rule in Gaza continues.

Hamas, let’s recall, is on the U.S. and, yes, EU terrorism lists.

Egypt is run by the Muslim Brotherhood. The country’s future direction remains an open question.

The Sinai, technically under Egyptian rule, has become a no-man’s land of weapons smugglers and terrorists.

As America looks for reliable friends in this vital region, one country stands out.

It was our ally yesterday, is today, and will be tomorrow.

That country is Israel.

America and Israel: Shared values, shared goals.
