Yohanan Plesner, Director General of the Kadima Party

YOHANAN PLESNER, a Member of Knesset, Member of the Knesset's Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, is the director general of the Kadima Party. He currently serves as chairman of the Knesset Lobby for Furthering Relations Between Israel and Europe, and as a member of the Knesset Lobby for the Prevention of Illegal Immigration to Israel, the Knesset Forum on International Relations and the Knesset Lobby for Local Government. He served as head of special projects in the Prime Minister's Office during the Sharon administration, where he was in charge of the planning of the national war on crime and reporting on the conclusions drawn from the Gush Katif disengagement. MK Plesner also served as a personal aide to the president of the Israeli Institute for Democracy and was a lecturer and spokesperson for the Israeli consulate in Boston. He was an officer in the General Staff Reconnaissance Unit. He holds a B.A. in economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an M.A. in political economics and security studies from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
