Constituency Coordinator

The Constituency Coordinator will focus on key elements of constituency management.This professional will play a key role in helping the office understand and strategize about how to reach out to and effectively engage key audiences that will support AJC’s strategic goals. The role will require strong conceptual abilities, sophisticated understanding of data, and an ability to work closely with AJC’s lay and staff leadership team. The Constituency Coordinator will interface most directly with AJC Boston’s Development and Communications program but he or she will also work closely with AJC’s young leadership community. In addition, the Constituency Coordinator will assist with some elements of essential office support.

Constituency Management: Development

  1. Lead strategic thinking in the regional office on strategies for maximizing institutional outreach.
  2. Create protocols and procedures for managing data and reporting processes for events, coordinate outreach to donors and prospects through effective list management, work with lay leadership to ensure that data is used to advance campaign objectives;
  3. Facilitate informed and strategic outreach through the creation of enhances processes for pledges and tracking of contributions, input lists and data for fundraising and office events to;
  4. Provide support for fundraising professionals (this may include: mailings, invitation design, etc.).
  5. Research prospective donors and potential honorees in the community;
  6. Participate in event management and oversight to ensure effective constituency mobilization.


Constituency Management: Communications

  1. Provide conceptual, logistical, organizational and administrative support for development and communications programs and initiatives;
  2. Manage integration of a data friendly organizational culture and supervise the development and introduction of systems to support this program;
  3. Oversee database including event registration, logistics, gift processing, and meeting attendance;
  4. Participate in the development of publications for constituency education;
  5. Provide management and administrative support for the regional website.


Constituency Management: Young Leadership
The major functions of this role include working with the AJC Boston Director, staff, and AJC ACCESS Boston board on developing and carrying out a strategic vision for the region, overseeing an annual campaign, and managing operations and outreach to members and prospects in the Boston community. As the Constituency Coordinator will only be able to provide a percentage of his or her time to young leadership development, the specifications below would need to be addressed in a staged fashion over an extended period of time. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide organizational and conceptual support for fundraising, communications, program development, meetings management, and leadership development for AJC ACCESS Boston programs and activities.
  • Recruit the best and brightest young Jewish professionals to join the AJC ACCESS Boston Board.
  • Communicate and meet regularly with AJC ACCESS Boston Board members, donors, and prospects.
  • Work with AJC Boston Director to create and oversee AJC ACCESS Boston budget.
  • Maintain and pursue grants and fundraising opportunities and oversee grant reporting.
  • Oversee planning and logistics for AJC ACCESS Boston signature events, such as the annual Young Diplomats Reception, Shabbat Dinners, and Interfaith Iftar.
  • Recruit AJC ACCESS Boston young leaders for AJC Boston events, small or large.
  • Continue to strengthen ties between AJC ACCESS Boston and AJC Boston.
  • Liaise with ACCESS national and ACCESS regions around the world, especially in regard to ACCESS Summit planning and recruitment.
  • Provide conceptual and administrative support for ACCESS database, website, and social networking.
  • Provide management and administrative support for annual ACCESS fundraising campaign.



  • Bachelor degree required
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or comparable database platform preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
