The full text of this week's commentary follows:

If the Palestinians want peace with Israel, they have a strange way of showing it.

First, they undermined Secretary of State John Kerry’s valiant efforts by bypassing the negotiating table and trying to internationalize the conflict.

Now, tragically, comes the next nail in the coffin of the peace process.

This week, the Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, announced a deal with Hamas to form a so-called unity government.

That’s the same Hamas on the U.S. and European Union terrorism lists.

The same Hamas that refuses to recognize Israel’s very right to exist.

And the same Hamas that’s aligned with Iran and other forces virulently hostile to America.

No wonder so many Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill are speaking out against the latest Palestinian move.

It brings a terrorist group into the fold and further complicates the search for peace.

Bravo to those officials who see this truth – and express it!
