Greetings from Israel.

Each time I visit, I’m moved by what I see.

Israel is a vibrant country, pulsating with life, intensity and hope.

Indeed, Israel’s national anthem is called “Hatikvah,” which means “the hope.”

And on these trips, I always meet people who come here for the first time.

Whatever their background, they often have similar reactions.

They comment on the country’s beauty.

They’re surprised by its small size, no bigger than New Jersey, which helps them grasp Israel’s security challenges in a rough region.

They’re impressed by Israel’s democracy. There are political parties galore, and most Israelis aren’t shy about expressing an opinion on politics or you name it.

They’re moved by Israel’s remarkable ethnic, religious, and racial diversity.

And they’re struck by the balance of the historical and traditional -- and the modern and cutting-edge.

Israel. The more you know, the more you understand.
