An Iranian nuclear program agreement has finally been announced. The high-stakes nature of the agreement, its layers of complexity, the many questions remaining—including what happens to Iran's nuclear program upon the deal’s expiration—and the malevolent nature of the Iranian regime raise significant issues that must be addressed. The U.S. Congress has the responsibility to thoroughly review, debate, and, ultimately, vote the deal up or down.
AJC briefed Congressional leaders about anti-Semitism in late 2014, and now Representatives Kay Granger (R-TX), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Peter Roskam (R-IL), Chris Smith (R-NJ), Ted Deutch (D-FL), Eliot Engel (D-NY), Steve Israel (D-NY), and Nita Lowey (D-NY) have launched a bipartisan taskforce to coordinate Congressional efforts, including legislation and bilateral engagement, to combat global anti-Semitism. Help call attention to one of the biggest roadblocks to Israel’s quest for peace: anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence and hate incited by the Palestinian Authority (PA). Ask your representatives to support a congressional resolution that urges PA President Abbas and PA officials to discontinue all official incitement. The resolution also directs the State Department to regularly monitor and publish information on state-sponsored incitement by the PA against Jews and Israel.
Senators Shaheen (D-NH) and Rubio (R-FL) have introduced a bill that will sanction intuitions complicit in the Iranian-backed group’s illicit activities. It also calls on the President to determine whether Hezbollah meets the criteria to be designated as a foreign narcotics trafficker and as a transnational criminal organization. Ask your Senators to support this bill aimed at disrupting terrorist financing and keeping the pressure on Hezbollah.

Representatives Curbelo and Bonamici have introduced a bipartisan resolution that strongly condemns these policies, honors university presidents and institutions opposing boycotts, and calls for enhanced interchange between American and Israeli academic institutions and scholars. Ask your Representative to support this important resolution.
